Solar Powered Mosquito Trap
Dear All,
We are in the process of working on some other solar related projects - please see this Discovery Channel episode on a device - a solar powered mosquito trap, killing the mosquito which causes malaria - which we are developing.

I have a couple of the flash lights, and gave one as a gift. They are great, and the support even better. I will check out the video, and the mosquito trap when it comes out, since I’m so happy with my flashlights.

This is a great idea! How about adding an output jack so that the light could be used to charge a small electrical device such as a cell phone?

Please send me all the information you can about your products, I’m very interested on them. I live in Guatemala, and we have countless communities living without electricity, your solar lamp will be a blessing, Thanks.

I saw your challenge on innocentive. I actually recommend a non-solar based idea. Much of the garbage in developing countries is disposed of poorly. Human waste spreads disease. If they were to compost garbage or human waste, this composting would generate both heat and carbon dioxide, which would help attract mosquitos to a sticky paper on the outside of the bin. As a side benefit, it would cut short the life cycle of many parasites, and additionally it would produce a sustainable, free fertilizer!
